Party With a Purpose: An Inauguration Celebration.

In the days leading up to the Presidential Inauguration, Perennial brought together prominent figures in sports, entertainment, and politics to celebrate their achievements as well as the historic change in office. The events were a way to recognize the valuable work put forth by these individuals within their professions and to encourage others to work hard for what they believe in.

To get things started, Perennial Sports and Entertainment brought together Artists and Athletes for a Cause, honoring NBA Superstar Carmelo Anthony and Grammy Award nominee Ne-Yo. Perennial Sports and Entertainment also made a financial contribution to their organizations the Carmelo Anthony Foundation and the Compound Foundation.

On Sunday January 18, Perennial Sports and Entertainment partnered with Essence Magazine for a Brunch and Awards Celebration at the House of Sweden in Georgetown. There, the best and brightest in politics and entertainment were recognized for their contributions to their profession. Honorees included Reuben Cannon, Sylvia Rhone, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Hill Harper, and Kerry Washington.

Perennial Strategy Group held two receptions to mark the historic change in office. The first was for the new President and CEO of the NAACP Mr. Benjamin Jealous, followed by an engagement at the Willard InterContinental Hotel on Inauguration eve for Rev. Al Sharpton.

After a cold but historic day on the National Mall, Perennial Sports and Entertainment along with the Impact Film Fund hosted a Pre-Inaugural Ball VIP Dinner at L2 Lounge in Georgetown. Many of Hollywood’s elite took part including Ben Affleck, Jessica Alba, and Sarah Silverman.

Later that evening, Perennial Sports and Entertainment with actor Jeffrey Wright hosted a Post-Gala After Party at Artefacto in Georgetown. Guests enjoyed live entertainment well into the morning from Audacious Midnight Chicago Blues with special guests Buddy Guy, Shemekia Copeland and Kim Wilson. Also performing was DJ MC Lyte who took the lead behind the turntables to usher in the new presidency in style. The party took place amidst two floors of Americana style artwork, including many pieces which were inspired by the campaign of President Barack Obama.

Party With a Purpose:At the 2008 Democratic National Convention

The Perennial family of businesses traveled to Denver, Colorado to host Party With A Purpose at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Eight events took place over the course of four days, honoring a number of charitable groups, civil rights activists, entertainers, sports figures and business leaders. Each engagement was supported by the attendance of celebrities and special guests and featured several musical performances including Wyclef Jean and the Black Eyed Peas. Visit PWAP2008.COM
